The beauty of Facebook is that when someone you don't know sends you a message, you get to see their picture. When someone like Lauren sends you that message and you see how pretty she is in her profile picture, you feel a little nervous about possibly photographing her. Then when she actually decides to book you, you start wringing your hands. Pretty people can be intimidating when you're used to bumming around in your sweatpants eating Hershey Kisses all day. (Have you tried the White Chocolate Peppermint ones!? Holy cow. They're like Christmas in a foil wrapper.)
And Lauren didn't help my nerves when she showed up for our session at the canal yesterday afternoon. She stepped out of the car like a Bond girl in stiletto heels and a black mini-dress. Like, a total babe. Seriously. And then I thought that maybe, hopefully, she was legally blind and would not notice my worn out boots and racoon-eyes from last night's makeup.
Now here is where you have Good News and More Good News. The first Good News is that Lauren is not blind. The More Good News is that she is sweet as pie - a very pretty, high-heeled pie. She's on her way to being a real estate agent and I think you should hire her because she's smart and sweet and has incredible taste in shoes.
Thanks for a fantastic session, Lauren! I'm going to scrub off my jacked-up mascara.
