the pierce family | frederick, md portraits.

Over Thanksgiving up at the farm, I got a message from Jen asking for a last-minute family session. Normally, my family has Thanksgiving 2.0 on that day but my Aunt came down with a case of the cancellations and I'm totally pumped that it was rescheduled so this session could happen.

I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I love young families. They have so much energy and I love watching 20-something parents work it out together. Baby is cold? Tag-team that blanket wrap. Baby is fussing? Dad heats up the car so baby can warm up and have a snack. Baby is having second thoughts on being photographed? Parents turn themselves inside out to make him crack a smile. I dig it.

Jen and Corban are a great compliment to each other - Jen is a little bossy in the best way, like a good friend who just tells you like it is and you like her for it. The only reason one might not like her is because she's the only woman in the world to maintain a six-pack throughout her entire pregnancy. I mean, c'mon. Corban is a displaced beach bum and I have no idea if he knows how to surf, but he seems like he'd be the super chill Surfing for Beginners instructor on your next vacation. Put 'em together and you've got Johnathan, a blue-eyed babe with a giant gummy grin and and the ability to make 100 different facial expressions in 8 seconds.

Thanks for braving the arctic cold for this session, ya'll!
