I'm all for Internet dating. Heck, even Martha Stewart is on Match.com these days. It's gonna take some serious backbone to wrangle that one down. But anyway, I'm grateful for it because without it, I would never have met my husband who lived and worked seventy miles away. And despite living only a mile away from one another (and working a block apart! a single block! Oh, Lady Destiny, you are a tricky devil), Megan and Clint might never have met each other either.
When I met Megan for coffee a couple of months ago, she whipped out a 3-inch binder with all her wedding details, meticulously organized with photos and notes. She told me all about her sunrise engagement at Kitty Hawk, about their shared love for art, and a Save the Date featuring their puppy, Asher. I asked how Clint was feeling about the upcoming wedding and she said he might be a little nervous about it but hey, wedding are a big deal.
I was expecting to meet a nervous groom when I arrived at the church this past Saturday. Happily, Clint walked right up with his hand extended, wearing that sort of cheesy grin only a man on his wedding day can pull off. I did a quick survey of the church before I found Megan getting ready to put on the wedding gown her mother made! for! her! I made a potholder once. Just sayin'.
I think Megan and Clint are pretty perfect for each other. Clint is a little quiet, but when he does speak, it's always something kind. Megan is sweet and completely unfussy and when they're together, there's a delightful joy between the two of them. I love that.
Thank you both so much for having me be a part of your gorgeous spring wedding. Have a blast on your honeymoon, and enjoy the sneak peak!
