You guys remember Jen and Evan, right? As if this was something you didn't already suspect, they keep excellent company. Their wedding was loaded with good friends and somewhere in the crowd was Dana and Jason. I didn't get to meet them on the wedding day, but as it turns out, they were happily engaged and in search of a photographer. It's fate, I tell you! Fate!
When we met for their engagement session, Jason mentioned how they watched me shoot during Jen's wedding (mostly about my incredible moves on the dance floor) and my immediate thought was if they caught me sniffing my armpit after the toasts to make sure my deodorant hadn't worn off. I never assume anyone sees that.
Dana suggested Gettysburg, PA for their engagement session and I immediately went into scaredy-cat mode. I did a ghost tour there once and between the weirdo paranormal folks with all their audio gear and the balding tour guide rattling chains in the orphanage basement, it was not on the top of my list of places to visit. But I aim to please! And Dana and Jason did not disappoint.
Turns out, Dana is a big chicken, too. A kindred spirit! We took a little time to chat before we got started and I listened to them banter about their first meeting in school, how excited they are to be working together at Johns Hopkins, and it was easy it was to see that LOVE IS IN THE AIR. My favorite thing was watching them play together - how Dana is so silly and at first, I didn't think Jason would laugh. He seemed so linebacker-like. But even linebackers can't resist the charm of a beautiful woman, amen!? And when he laughs at her, it's from the belly with eyes crinkled up and nonstop-until-your-cheeks-are-sore. That's a good way to live.
It's always a treat for me to see a couple really enjoy each other. I mean, when they forget I'm standing there and they melt into each other and I know they're like that even when I'm not there. Dana and Jason, I'm pumped for your wedding and for your lives together. Enjoy your sneak peak and I'll see you soon.
