I've been mulling over this post for a while now - I never feel like I do justice to some couples when I write about their wedding day. Sometimes you just have to be there to see it.
Sometimes the bride arrives totally relaxed with a pair of very smart red high-heels, ready to do this thing. And I shouldn't have been surprised, Megan has been a breeze throughout the entire planning process. I know it's easy to get caught up in the hustle-bustle planning of a wedding, and I myself am a little guilty of losing sight of the purpose along the way. But for Megan, it was always about Adam. About finally being together instead of oceans and time zones apart. When you have that at the front of your mind, you aren't so worried about the sporadic rain shower that suddenly appeared right when you're ready to make your grand exit; you don't fuss too much about squeezing in bridal portraits whenever there's time; and you certainly aren't bothered when the bustle on your train rips because you're so busy dancing with your new husband there isn't time to care.
At the reception, the best man mentioned Adam always said he would do three things - serve his country ('merica!), travel the world, and never get married. I laughed, for that was news to me. Well, not the first two since he's been in Korea for months on end, but the never-gonna-get-married part. Because when Adam + Megan met me for their engagement session, you would've seen that there is no other woman on the planet for that guy and I don't know why he ever thought he could resist her womanly charm. Who doesn't love a perfectly crinkled-up nose mid-smile? Or that he makes her laugh when he says things no one else hears? Let's go all in, people.
I am absolutely thrilled for you guys - your wedding day was a rip roarin' good time and I know your life together will be filled with the same. A billion thank-you's to my grande-caramel-frappucino-double-blended-no-whip-extra-caramel-second-shooter Jess. You're a rockstar. Enjoy your sneak peak, lovies!
