Jamie + Manny were married at Oliver's Carriage House in Columbia, MD - a historic building with beamed ceilings and secret passageways and the oddest nooks and crannies around every corner. It was perfect for the comic-book-Harry-Potter-silver-glitter-winter-wedding Jamie and Manny brought to life. I stayed in touch with Jamie throughout the planning process and I saw all her hard work, her anticipation, her excitement that could no longer be contained by the morning of her wedding and she admitted to jumping up and down on the bed. That's the best way to start your married life.
It was f-f-f-freezing this past Saturday, a day wedged between nonstop freezing rain and the snow that currently blankets the ground. We shivered our way through portraits and hustled back inside for hot chocolate and some red-hot salsa dancing (best first dance ever?).
I know everyone says they want to make their wedding unique, they want it to be different and very "us." Sometimes that happens, sometimes not. For Jamie and Manny, it was 110% THEM. The comics. The hilarious Q+A wedding programs that included a reference to Vince Vaughn. The Harry Potter book turned ring box for a most unbreakable vow. Jamie made a toast in Spanish and Manny's Mom totally wins Cutest Mother of the Groom Award. It was all sorts of awesome in every way.
Jamie and Manny were surely made only for each other. I love you guys! Enjoy your buddy-moon and while you're at it, knock back a second pina colada for your favorite photographer. Enjoy the sneak peak!
